The House released their continuing resolution (CR) yesterday evening to fund the government past this Friday. It runs through April 28th at the same funding levels of FY 2016 – $1.07 trillion – which keeps the budget below the federal government’s strict spending caps. This means WIC will continue to operate at an annual funding level of $6.32 billion until the end of the CR.
The bill also includes $170 million in funding for Flint, which will be used for improving the safety of drinking water and establishing a lead exposure registry.
The House Rules Committee is planning to take up the CR this afternoon, and the full chamber is expected to vote on the CR tomorrow. Senate Democrats have warned that the Senate may need more time to complete the CR and other bills before they adjourn.
