Position performs WIC participant certification which includes health and nutrition assessment/nutrition education, prescribes and issues supplemental, nutritious food packages, provides program management of WIC offices within the region, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, assesses community needs and conducts appropriate outreach, is a liaison from field offices to the Regional Nutrition Supervisor and State WIC Agency, provides provider and participant training and education, public education, resource development, identification, and implementation of best practices, coordinates breastfeeding promotion and education. This position also directs administrative processes, personnel management, vendor management, clinic coverage, and fiscal responsibilities.
