This is a senior management position directing the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Division that reports directly to the Assistant County Health Department Director - Health. The individual in this position will be required to apply expertise and experience in nutrition and chronic to improve the health status and well-being of Duval County residents This position includes a combination of providing managerial direction and oversight to assigned sites within the nutrition division and implementing community nutrition education initiatives. In addition, the incumbent must ensure that the provision of services in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program are in accordance with the policies of the state WIC Program and regulations as stated in DHM 150-24 . In addition to the WIC program, this position will oversee all programs and the NEW Deal, diabetes self-management program, In total this division averages around 60-70 employees. This position will be part of an interdisciplinary executive leadership team, be accountable for relevant aspects of strategic and business plans and play a leadership role in the Department's quality initiative.  He/she will participate in a system of performance-based management and be directly accountable for health indicators related to nutrition and chronic disease outcomes, as well as indirectly for the performance of the entire department.
