This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by advancing the health and well-being of California’s diverse people and communities. As an employee of the Workforce Services Unit, the incumbent serves as part of a team that provides support, advice and assistance to the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Division employees specific to Human Resources best practices. These services, in turn, allow WIC employees to complete their duties in an efficient and informed manner.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Chief, Workforce Services Unit (WSU), Staff Services Manager I (SSM I). The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) performs the more responsible, varied, and complex technical analytical staff services assignments related to workforce services. The AGPA serves as the Personnel Liaison between CDPH’s WIC Division and the Human Resources Division (HRD). The AGPA completes all Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs), develops, and presents training on personnel-related subjects, and provides guidance on the hiring process, classifications, allocations, and organizational structure. The AGPA provides information regarding benefits and pay, helps resolve payroll and benefits issues, and performs other analytical tasks for the Division. The AGPA acts as the lead training coordinator. There can be occasional travel within the Sacramento area.
